In an effort to catch up, here are several photos from September 11th, 2011. Each year, one thousand American flags are set up at a park here in Lubbock as a memorial. It's pretty powerful stuff, and very humbling to say the least. On the 10th anniversary, we first attended Mass, then spent a lot of the day watching the presentation of the new memorial and various documentaries/footage of that horrid day. Then we took a trip down to the flags -- and took a few photos, of course!
John and Momma, walking hand-in-hand:

Peek-a-boo!

We tried to get a photo with me and the boys, but neither were interested in posing -- they wanted to explore!

Wayne-dog's Border Collie herding instincts kicked in to help us keep an eye on John:

Love this one -- see John's little "Guns Up!"?

God Bless America!

Love the innocence in this photo!

Funny guy!

Even though the flying flags are beautiful, I also thought the solemnity of these flags hanging down was fitting for the day:

Dada and John-Boy!

My favorite three boys:

Love it!

Our All-American Dog!

We are so grateful for the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. As we remembered what happened 10 years ago, we hope and pray for their continued safety and resilience! Y'all take care and God bless!
Love,
Abby, Andy, John, Baby Will, and Wayne-Dog :)
