New Photos!

Hi again!

Well it's been WAY too long since I've posted - Christmas came and went (and it was wonderful!), and we're already a month into 2010! Boy how time flies! I plan to make another post soon with photos from Christmas (as soon as I get them all uploaded to the computer), but in the meantime I wanted to share John's latest photos!

We had another sonogram last Friday (Jan 20th) at 23 weeks - we were so pleased and grateful to hear that Baby John's heart and brain and all other organs are looking good and developing as they should!!! :) So without further adieu, here are his most recent pictures:

ALMOST a "guns up" ;) He wouldn't get his hand out of his face during most of the sonogram, so we barely got the above shots (but the sonographer was persistent)! And we're grateful! What a handsome little guy!

That's it for now... hope this finds you doing well! God bless!
Love,
Abby, Andy, Baby John, and Wayne-Dog :)

It's A...

BOY!!!

We found out on Thursday that we're having a baby boy! We're so excited and feel so blessed! His name is John Samuel Hefferly, and here are a few "photos" of our little miracle so far...

Hi everyone!
His little feet:

Here's my favorite - he's doing a somersault! He was movin' and rollin' everywhere during the sonogram. I love how you can see his legs and feet curled up over his head:

And proof that he's a BOY (the little arrow/hand points to his "boyhood"... this is the "toilet bowl" view and it's hard to tell what's what... but trust us, he's a boy!) :)

That's all for now! Thank you for the prayers for our little one! We sure can't wait to meet him in less than 5 months! It's hard to believe we'll be HALF-WAY there by next weekend! :)

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas! God bless you and your family!

Love,
Abby, Andy, Baby John, and Wayne-Dog

Growing...

Hi again!

It's been WAY too long since I've posted - tomorrow we'll have something worth writing about (we have our next sonogram and will find out if we've got a baby boy or a baby girl on the way!!!) - but I thought I'd at least post an updated belly photo...
The photo was from 18 weeks (we'll be 19 full weeks at the end of this week), and it doesn't do it justice. I think I've grown a lot even since the picture! :)

Andy is studying hard for his LAST final on Friday - he is really looking forward to his Christmas break! He definitely deserves the rest! I'm very proud of him for all his hard work this semester. And he's been incredibly helpful and supportive around the house, which has been really nice with the tiredness of pregnancy. :) And Wayne-Dog is being cute as usual!

Hope this finds you all doing well and preparing well for Christmas! God bless! I'll be sure to post again soon with our family news! :)

Love,
Abby

Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone,

So first I'll update ya on the little one... we're just over 12 weeks along and as far as we know, all is well! We see the doctor on Tuesday, but we won't be getting a sonogram at that appointment - not yet sure when our next one will be! Here's a quick profile photo at 12 weeks:

In the meantime, we had a wonderful week and a happy Halloween! First of all, Andy's brother Pat came through town on his drive from Columbus, Mississippi to Las Vegas. He's now stationed in Vegas at Nellis Air Force Base and will be doing missiles and munitions maintenance (managing the arming of planes for combat). We got to spend some good time with Pat, and their parents also came into town too. Lots of good family time with the Hefferlys! Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos...

Also, I came home from work one day this week to discover that Andy's mom and his sister Laura created a mini "Fall Extravaganza" on our porch! Andy's mom does this great, elaborate display on their porch each fall -- the "Fall Extravaganza" -- it's full of hay bales, pumpkins, gourds, squash, a scarecrow, and other fall decor. So she started one for each of her married kids this year! We LOVE it! What a wonderful, thoughtful surprise! Here's what it looks like, with the addition of our jack-o-lantern -- we took a little family photo:

For Halloween, Wayne-dog was pretty curious as to what we were doing with that pumpkin - he wanted to help!

Wayne-dog was also brand new to trick-or-treaters -- it took him a few doorbell rings to figure out why we had all these scary visitors who didn't care to come in and play with him! He did great though. AND, best of all, he tolerated us dressing him up! We didn't do anything too extravagant, but it took a few tries… first a fire-dog (he wasn't impressed), then a couch potato (guess he doesn't like cheap beer!), and finally an old silly lion mask from years ago! Just look at those eyes! We're pretty sure he's going to pay us back for putting him through such humiliation!

Speaking of costumes, our bun-in-the-oven got dressed up too! Here's our little pumpkin's first Halloween costume (it's just pinned on my belly, and yes, I'm a dork) :)

After going to the Tech vs. Kansas game on Saturday, Andy and I handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. There were some cute ones, but our favorites by far were Aladdin and Abu! (our nephews Kolbe and Reagan) Aren't their costumes great?!

"Abu" (Reagan) and his Grandma (Ms. Lora):

"Aladdin" (Kolbe) enjoying one of his "tricks" from his trick-or-treat bag:

As you can see above, Laura, Mark, Mark's mom Ms. Lora, and the boys stopped by -- it was great hanging out! We didn't get to see our nieces on Halloween though, as the timing didn't work out. While I don't have a photo of them to share, I was told that Shelby was a lady-bug and little Kinsey was Minnie Mouse. I bet they were too cute!

Well that's it for now. Hope you had a Happy Halloween! Take care and God bless!

Love,
Abby, Andy, Baby, and Wayne-Dog

Our Baby's 1st Photo

Hi again!

So today we had our very first sonogram and got to hear our baby's heart beat - it was incredible! :-D Andy and I were so excited to finally see our little bun-in-the-oven! What a wonderful miracle!

Anyways, here's our baby's first picture:Yeah... it's hard to tell what's what, so the next photo (sorry it's blurry) has 2 arrows -- the red one is pointing to the head, and the blue one to the body with all four little limb buds (like a little gummy bear, ha!). VERY awesome! We are still just so excited and so blessed... We're starting our 10th week, and this sonogram confirmed that we're right on schedule for our May 15th due date!

That's all for now... hope everyone has a great weekend! Our friends Katie and Jared Bares are in town this weekend for the Tech football game, so we're looking forward to some tailgating with friends and football. Take care and God bless!

Love,
Abby, Andy, Baby and Wayne-Dog

Our GROWING Family!

Andy and I are VERY excited to announce our BIG NEWS:
That's right, we're expecting our first little one! This post is overdue, as we have known for about 3 weeks now, but I wanted to wait to put it on here until I got a chance to start work and tell everyone there... So yes, we're pregnant!!!

We are just over 8 weeks along, and we're due May 15th! We feel so privileged and so blessed, and we sure can't wait! We have our first sonogram this Friday, which we are really looking forward to. The night we found out, after telling our families our exciting news, Andy treated us to ice cream! So of course I made him take a few photos...

Here's Andy, the happy Daddy-to-be:

And the Mama-to-be:

And even Wayne-Dog is excited:

As for other news, Andy is busy as ever with studying and competitions this fall semester for Law School. He's doing great, and this weekend we are excited to have his best friend from high school, Nate Ramsey, visit us up here in Lubbock. Nate is a First Leiutenant in the Army and will soon pin on as Captain. He recently returned from serving in Iraq for over a year - we are very proud of him and grateful for his service. Oh, and he brought his Border Collie named Sarah -- yes, our dogs' names are Wayne and Sarah! ha!

As for me, I passed my Boards exam in mid-September and have started working as a full-time Physical Therapist. I'm working in an outpatient ortho clinic called Physical Therapy Today -- it's a great clinic and I work with a fantastic group of people! It's been an adventure adjusting to the real world, with working full time (and the constant nausea of morning sickness, ha!), but it's all more than worth it. I'm learning a lot, and we are sure looking forward to my first paycheck! ;)

We've also had a lot of fun this fall with tailgating before Texas Tech football games and spending time with friends and family! We are truly blessed, and we thank you for all the prayers for our baby! We would love to hear from y'all and see how everyone is doing -- don't hesitate to call, email, or stop in! You've always got a place to stay here in West Texas! :)

Love,
Abby, Andy, Baby and Wayne-Dog :)

Overdue Post and New Niece!

Howdy!

Well it's been way too long since I've posted, and we've sure been busy! (some work, lots of play) :) Let's see... since I last posted: Andy finished summer school, I FINALLY finished PT school for good!, we took an AWESOME trip to Montana and Wyoming (that post to come... with LOTS of photos), and our newest niece Kinsey Anne Bergman was born (Aug 11)!! Also, Andy has started his fall semester of Law School (year 2 of 3), and I've been studying for my licensure exam (which I will take on Sept 11th). That about sums it up for this quick update. I'll leave you with some photos of Kinsey!

Kinsey gettin' some snuggles with her Grandma:

Here she's got her eyes open, checkin' out Uncle Andy:

Proud Daddy:

Here's the best close-up I have so far... looks like she's having a good dream:

Kinsey and her Aunt Abby:

That's it for now! I'll do the Montana/Wyoming post next, but it may be a while because I took WAAAAY too many photos! It'll be tough to narrow it down. ;) Y'all take care and God bless!
